Having dry skin that is also sensitive and reactive makes exfoliating a nightmare. Clinique’s Clarifying Lotion used to cut it, but as I’ve gotten older, I’ve needed a little more. Exfoliating scrubs and things like that tear my skin to pieces, so I started looking for some kind of chemical exfoliant that was gentle enough for me.
Enter Nip + Fab’s Glycolic Fix Exfoliating Facial Pads. For the foreseeable future, I will be repurchasing this. It’s like a cheaper version of the blog-famous Alpha H Liquid Gold. It has a lower percentage of glycolic acid, but it still delivers results. After cleansing and toning at night, I wipe one of these pre-soaked pads over my face and neck. Since they’re pre-soaked I don’t worry about overdoing it. The jar comes with 60, so if you use one every other day, it’ll last about two months. You can see I’m already halfway through mine. I wanted to give it a good solid run before I boiled over and raved about it here.
The glycolic acid retextures and resurfaces skin so that when I wake up, my skin feels soft and smooth. These have hyaluronic acid to moisturize which is a plus because sometimes overnight treatments dry my face out. I still have to moisturize after it’s absorbed in, but I never get that tight, uncomfortable feeling. They’ve got witch hazel so my skin feels tingly and soothed after. They contain something called blue daisy which is supposed to reveal a brighter complexion, but I don’t think my skin is any brighter, just smoother. They have a light citrusy scent that I don’t mind. Even if you’re sensitive to smells, it fades quickly and really isn’t very strong.
Ugh I just love them so much. My skin feels amazing and smooth, so my bb cream and foundation apply evenly, and when I don’t have makeup on I feel much more confident in my bare complexion. I was getting in a bad skin rut and this lifted me up and catapulted me into bargain skincare heaven. Thank you Nip + Fab! I kind of want to see what else they have to offer now. I’ve seen them at Target and Ulta so far.
