1. Diptyque Volutes Eau de Toilette// I hear such good things about Diptyque but everything I get from them just smells musty and old with a hint of rubbing alcohol. Maybe I’m just not getting the right scents. I definitely won’t be wearing this one even as a back-up scent in my purse.
2. Alterna Bamboo Smooth Kendi Dry Oil Mist// After I use this, my hair feels soft and silky. It has a nice, just-got-back-from-the-salon smell to it that I can’t quite pin point. If I use it after deep conditioning, then my hair feels a little greasy, so don’t double up (unless your hair is drier than mine).
3. Dermalogica Precleanse // I hadn’t tried any sort of oil pre-cleanser before, and I can’t say that I noticed a huge difference after adding the extra step before washing my face. The oil is supposed to help remove excess secum, make-up, and sunscreen before you wash for face(pretty much a glorified make-up remover). Since my skin is very dry, the oil keeps it from feeling too tight and uncomfortable, and it smells minty and tingles a little. I’ll keep using it through the winter months because this is when my skin is the driest, but since I haven’t noticed an added benefit, I probably won’t buy a full size once it runs out.
4. diego dalla palma Classic Lipstick in Pink Satin // I was so excited about getting a tiny little lipstick like this, but I was quickly disappointed when I applied it. The color looks awkward with my hair color and the pink brings out the red in my skin. Even if I’d gotten a different color I still think I would’ve been unhappy with it because the formula brings out every imperfection in my lips. It settles in the crevices and goes on very thick, so they look chapped and lumpy even when they’re not. The pigment is wax-coated, so maybe that has something to do with it. It’s pictured below. It’s more of a coral-pink in person.
Not Pictured: L’Occitane Shea Butter Hand Cream //My sample was in my purse when I took these photos (I’m the worst!) but I really like it. I usually carry around some Soap&Glory Hand Food in my purse, but I misplaced it right when this came in the mail, and it was a life saver. I love the packaging and it works really well. It absorbs quickly and my hands don’t feel greasy afterwards. I’ve since found my Hand Food and I switch between the too, but this one is definitely the more glamorous of the two.
