Rounding out my lip-centric week is my review of Sephora’s Cream Lip Stain in Everlasting Burgundy. I’d never actually tried any of Sephora’s lip products despite my good friend Becca vouching for their quality. On my last trip to Sephora to return some stuff that I less than loved, I had a little bit of store credit in my pocket. The end result is I bought yet another dark lip color, but I love this formula so much that I’d love to get another in a more everyday shade.
It’s almost irritating how long-lasting this color is. I applied it at 8:30 AM, and it lasted until 3 PM! During that time I drank coffee, ate sushi for lunch, and drank an energy drink around 2 PM. This stuff takes a beating. It faded slightly and really evenly until right at the end, and then I got the dreaded ring around the border of my lips, but dang it almost lasted my whole work day! Like a lot of long-lasting colors, it’s a bit drying by the end of it, but it wasn’t really that bad. I didn’t apply chapstick the whole day until 3 PM when I put some on to try and even out the stain (which worked for the rest of the day, yay!).
Normally I avoid metallics, but the burgundy was just so beautiful and it adds a lot of dimension. It’s a cream lipstick so you apply it with a wand, but the formula is nice and silky. It has a slightly vanilla scent like MAC products. I can’t wait until I can try this in another shade cause they have a nice range. I hate to say it, but this could very well replace my NYX matte lip creams. It just lasts so much longer that it’s hard to argue.
Small note: I’m wearing my wonderful silk blouse from Everlane in light gray. My work is pretty casual and it feels so fancy I’ve had a hard time wearing it out. It looks super cute underneath a crew neck sweater or long=sleeve shirt.
This color is gorgeous, especially with your minimalist makeup.

Thank you! I try to keep everything else simple when I do a statement lip.
